The impressive rise of Mat Armstrong
Only a few years ago, Mat had only 100 subscribers. As he rapidly approaches 200,000 now on his YouTube channel alone, it’s important to note that Mat’s no stranger to a challenging car.
Performance and modified vehicles have gone hand in hand with BMXing for years now in the online world thanks to the likes of Ryan Taylor and Josh from BOQER123. Mat is no exception to the rule.
The journey started on two wheels, then progressed to 4 when Mat picked up an E350 Mercedes and started tinkering with it.
It’s fair to assume most will have joined Mat during the TT era, however. This Audi TT, which eventually ended up wrapped in camo, provided tonnes of content and fun times for Mat and his audience.
It wasn’t long before Mat’s girlfriend Hannah joined in on the action, and they started sharing the progress they were making modifying her BMW 1 Series.
There was an Audi S5, a Bentley Continental GT, and even a Range Rover Sport SVR (for all of about 2 hours for a prank Mat played on Hannah, which we sponsored, sorry Hannah!).
But all of this is tame in comparison to where he’s at now. The Audi R8 came. The Audi R8 went. In its place? A Lamborghini Gallardo.
Something tells us this is only the beginning for Mat.

As we mentioned at the start, we’ve been covering Mat’s cars for a while now. We’re not afraid of a few modifications, or a project car that’s only going to be on the driveway for a few months before it’s replaced by another.
Mat’s always been really happy with the way we’ve helped him, but with his potential we knew we couldn’t just leave it that, so we started to sponsor a couple of his videos every now and again.
The reaction we received from you all was fantastic. So good in fact that, once again, we found ourselves not wanting to just ‘leave it at that’.
