Maserati GranTurismo Sport
At the centre of the Trident brand’s contemporary resurgence is the GranTurismo Sport. And the latest version of its now perennial crowd pleaser got a brilliant update last year. We’re waiting for a drive in this beautiful beast later in the summer, so watch this space for the results of that trip – but in the meantime we thought we’d give you a tongue tip taster of a car that has helped hammer home the new Maserati message. Sporty driving can be truly luxurious too.
- The rear of the car has been made even sleeker than before thanks to restyled, darker light clusters that accentuate its dramatic look. With dark alloys the badass element is underlined heavily…
- Maserati launched the latest GT Sport at Geneva 2012. The most successful of the current Maserati line got sporty, luxurious styling and design tweaks throughout.
- The front bumper has been redesigned to improve the air flow and the cooling of the front brakes, whilst at the same time to enhance the appearance of the nose of the car.
460 HP 4.7-LITRE V8
The 4.7-litre V8 engine can now deliver a maximum power of 460 HP (338 kW) and a peak torque of 520 Nm, without penalising fuel consumption and emissions. These parameters, coupled with the electro actuated gearbox featuring MC Shift technology for faster gear changes (down to 100 ms), enable the GranTurismo Sport to reach a top speed of 300 km/h, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds.
- The steering wheel is also new and is now even more ergonomic and better suited to sports driving, thanks to a flatter rim and a grip with accentuated profile.
- Superbly designed ergonomics with a distinct sporty, luxury feel. This light coloured leather in contrast with the new colour and the black accents really play to Maserati’s playboy heritage.
- The front light cluster maintains its original profile, but it has been completely redesigned and improved thanks to the addition of DRL LED technology.
Sport Skyhook System
Running gear features an evolution of the continuous damping control system that makes the car even more reactive and fun to drive, whilst at the same time increasing passenger comfort. There’s SPORT and normal mode. The GranTurismo Sport is available with a ZF 6-speed automatic and a 6-speed electro actuated gearbox, with dry twin-plate clutch. The first enhances driving comfort without compromising on performance, while the second offers a more involving driving experience.
- Boca Negro mean and clean…
- …tech balanced by design…
- Commanding presence on the move
